Chris WhiteSound Finance, Solid Experience - Chris White, Liberal Democrat Candidate for Police & Crime Commissioner in Hertfordshire

Chris White is Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on St Albans Council and has been a Hertfordshire county councillor since 1993. He has built a reputation as a formidable campaigner.

1. Chris is a local and experienced councillor who was a member of the Police Authority for seven years

Chris has extensive experience of working on policing issues in his local community and was formerly chair of the Hertfordshire Police Authority Audit Committee.

2. Chris will support the Police in responding to modern crime trends and will listen to your concerns

Neighbourhood crimes like burglary, theft and drug dealing remain - and require Neighbourhood Policing to tackle it. Chris recognises that crime is also moving into new areas e.g. fraud, financial scams, fake goods, employment exploitation and money laundering. He wants closer co-operation between the Constabulary and Trading Standards, the DWP and HMRC.

3. Chris has a good grasp of finance and was formerly the Chair of the Police Authority's Audit Committee

Chris qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984 and has worked in accountancy, accountancy training and public affairs. He was a member of the Board of the Audit Commission from 2005 to 2011 and is currently Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on the Local Government Association.
